The library will be closed November 11 to observe Veteran's Day.
Story Time
Story Time is on Tuesdays and Fridays at 10:30 am. The program is appropriate for children birth to five years. We read stories and sing children's songs. There is no requirement to register ahead of time, come and join us!
Movin' and Groovin'
Every second and fourth Wednesday.
This very popular program features singing and dancing with toddlers and young children. Music is played and children are encouraged to participate by waving flags, shaking noise makers, or playing with the parachute. The program is designed specifically for toddlers and preschoolers, though older children will not be turned away.
LegoMania/Wii Play!
Every Wednesday from 3:00-5:00.
Every Wednesday from 3:00-5:00, the basement of the library comes alive with Legos! We have thousands of the small plastic blocks, and we invite children to come and create with them. During the same time period, we also have a Nintendo Wii that children can take turns playing games on. The Wii, unlike many other video game consoles, encourages players to become actively involved, making the game a good source of exercise for young players. This program is open to all elementary aged students. Younger children may attend if they are accompanied by an adult.
The library will be closed Thursday, November 27th to celebrate Thanksgiving.
Mother/Daughter Book Club
The Book Club meets on the second Thursday of each month at 5:00. We read 1-2 books each month on our own, and then get together at the library to discuss the books while eating snacks. At the end of the meeting the members - both mothers and daughters - vote on what we should read next. The Book Club is intended for students in grades 5-8, but feel free to talk to Ann the Librarian if you are outside that range and would like to join. Also, if a girl would like to join but her mother is working or otherwise unable to attend, she can certainly come alone, or bring another friend or family member.
Homeschooling Book Club
The Homeschooling Book Club meets on the first Thursday of each month at 11:00. The club is reading books from the Massachusetts Children's Book Award nomination list, and will help to vote for the state's best book for the 2008 season.
Anime/Manga Club
The Anime/Manga Club is designed as a forum to discuss anime (Japanese animation) and manga (graphic novels drawn in a Japanese style). Every fourth Thursday, the group meets at 2:00 to watch an anime. The program is intended for middle school and high school students.
The Library will be closed on Friday, November 28th to celebrate Thanksgiving.

Make it and Take It Craft
Small crafts are available between 10:15 and 3:45 on most Saturdays. The crafts are pre-made, and generally require little supervision from adults. With a little glue and some free time, kids of all ages can create special magnets or small toys to take home with them.
