For special programs we will hand out free tickets starting 30 minutes before the show on a first come first serve basis. For regularly scheduled programs such as story time, tickets are generally unnecessary.
The chess club is open to all ages. Come and play chess with other fans of the game! Adult supervision is provided. During the school year this program runs very Thursday from 3:30-4:30. The first date for the current school year will begin September 17th.
The Book Club meets on the second Thursday of each month at 5:00. We read 1-2 books each month on our own, and then get together at the library to discuss the books while eating snacks. At the end of the meeting the members - both mothers and daughters - vote on what we should read next. The Book Club is intended for students in grades 5-8, but feel free to talk to Ann the Librarian if you are outside that range and would like to join. Also, if a girl would like to join but her mother is working or otherwise unable to attend, she can certainly come alone, or bring another friend or family member
The Homeschooling Book Club meets on the first Thursday of each month at 11:00. The club is reading books from the Massachusetts Children's Book Award nomination list, and will help to vote for the state's best book for the 2009 season. The suggested age is 9-12, but all are welcome.
