Part-Time Senior Library Technician, Job Posting # BFL-FY26-02
Brooks Free Library is seeking applicants with excellent customer service and technology skills who can perform technical work in a busy public library while interacting with community members in a positive, friendly manner. Prior library experience preferred but not required. Candidates must be available evenings and Saturdays on a year-round basis. While some work is sedentary and similar to office work, library work frequently requires constant moderate physical effort to perform a variety of tasks such as check in and check out, retrieving materials from shelves at heights ranging from floor level to above the shoulder, emptying the book drop, and shelving and shifting of materials. Library Assistants / Substitutes
Brooks Free Library periodically hires Library Assistants (substitutes) for our busy public service desks (Circulation, Youth Services, and Reference). Year-round availability is important as is willingness to work mid-afternoon / evening shifts (3 or 4 pm until 7 pm) and Saturday shifts.Some regular shifts may be scheduled in advance, but others would be on an on-call basis. Experience is preferred, but not required. Training will be provided. Full information on duties and qualification requirements may be found in the Library Assistant job description. Applicants for Library Assistants must be available for at least two shifts per week during Library hours (Monday-Thursday 10 am – 7 pm and Friday & Saturday 10 am – 4 pm) on a year-round basis to be considered. Regular evening and Saturday shifts are required. Pay range $20.60 – $22.23 / hour.
