Circulation Librarian, Job Posting # BFL-FY26-01

The Circulation Librarian is a professional librarian position charged with supervising Circulation staff and managing the department’s services, programs, and operations. Performs collection development, provides readers advisory services, assistance with technology and electronic resources, and plans and conducts programs and outreach activities. Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) from an American Library Association accredited institution; 2 to 3 years’ experience as a professional librarian required to independently perform the full range of duties and responsibilities with the independence expected of a seasoned professional; 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience to perform the essential functions of the position, with the requirement that the incumbent completes an MLIS within three (3) years of the hire date. See  Circulation Librarian job description 11-21-24 and the Physical Description of Library Work for additional information about this position. This is a full-time position (35 hours per week) with benefits. Pay range $32.43 to $40.21 per hour. Evening and Saturday hours required. Please follow instructions below to apply.

Notes to applicants: This is fully in-person position, not a remote position. Applicants from outside of the commuting area should be aware that Cape Cod has a severe housing shortage. Few homes are for sale below $700,000 and there is strong competition for the small number of rental units. A commute from off-Cape is possible but would take up to an hour from the closest communities in southeastern Mass. in optimum conditions, longer when heavy traffic causes delays on the two bridges onto the Cape.

Full information on duties and qualification requirements may be found in the Library Assistant job description.
