Welcome to the Brooks Free Library Children’s Room!

We are thrilled to offer a wide range of books, audiobooks, DVDs, board games, video games, kits, pre-loaded tablets and much more! With an enormous children’s room well stocked with a variety of toys to spark creativity and imagination, a bank of computers for homework and gaming, as well as a wide range of programming for children of all ages, we invite you to join us in celebrating the unique joys and requirements of childhood.

Special Programs

Special programs are offered regularly each month and during school vacations.  Check our Library Calendar.

Regular Preschool Programs 

All of our regular programs are free and do not require registration. All ages are welcome unless otherwise noted. For a full listing of our FREE programs, including special events and programs for ages 11+ visit our event calendar!

For babies, toddlers and preschoolers

Mondays at 10:30 – Mother Goose on the Loose Babies, toddlers, and preschoolers can sing songs and play with musical instruments.

Wednesdays at 10:30 – Preschool Projects During the school year preschoolers are invited to a variety of projects and art experiences! Some projects are messy, so play clothes are encouraged!

Fridays at 10:30 – Story Time We will read stories and sing songs every Friday!

Regular After School Programs

Mondays at 3:00 – HJT Theater Explorer Members of the Cape Cod Theater Company will run theater games and improve scenes with students. The elementary school program runs 3:00-4:00 and is for first grade through fourth graders. The middle school/high school program is 4:00-5:00 and for grades 5 and above. The first session will be mid-September to Mid-November.

Thursdays at 3:00 – Lego Fun Children of all ages are invited to join us for free play with our zillions of Lego blocks and kits!
