Welcome to the Brooks Free Library Children’s Room!

We are thrilled to offer a wide range of books, audiobooks, DVDs, board games, video games, kits, pre-loaded tablets and much more! With an enormous children’s room well stocked with a variety of toys to spark creativity and imagination, a bank of computers for homework and gaming, as well as a wide range of programming for children of all ages, we invite you to join us in celebrating the unique joys and requirements of childhood.

Much of our regular in-library programming has been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are able to run some outdoor programs, however! All of our programs are free and do not require registration.

Outdoor Story Time – Thursdays at 10:30 near the gazebo at Brooks Park. Sing songs, shake shakers, and read books with Miss Ann! The program is designed for babies and preschoolers, but all ages are welcome! Email to be put on our inclement weather notification list.

Outdoor Preschool Projects – Every Tuesday at 10:00 we will be creating a fun project in the (blocked off) upper parking lot of the library! Projects can get messy, so wear play clothing. Possible project concepts include: painting with your feet, working with clay, sensory exploration, and process art projects!

Outdoor Homeschool Activity Club – The second Wednesday of every month at 10:00 in the upper parking lot. The Homeschool Activity Club is moving outdoors for the fall season! We’ll do a variety of projects, sometimes arts and crafts, sometimes science and engineering, hopefully always fun! The target audience is school aged children, but all ages are welcome.

Outdoor Homeschool Book Club – The fourth Wednesday of every month at 10:00 in the upper parking lot. We will discuss a book together, and then do an activity related to the book. All ages are welcome. Email to find out what book we’re reading this month!
