Welcome to the Brooks Free Library Children’s Room!

We are thrilled to offer a wide range of books, audiobooks, DVDs, board games, video games, kits, pre-loaded tablets and much more! With an enormous children’s room well stocked with a variety of toys to spark creativity and imagination, a bank of computers for homework and gaming, as well as a wide range of programming for children of all ages, we invite you to join us in celebrating the unique joys and requirements of childhood.

Programming

Much of our regular in-library programming has been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are running three in-person programs this summer, however!

Outdoor Story Time – Thursdays at 10:30 near the gazebo at Brooks Park. Sing songs, shake shakers, and read books with Miss Ann! The program is designed for babies and preschoolers, but all ages are welcome! Email acarpenter@clamsnet.org to be put on our inclement weather notification list.

All Ages Roleplaying Game – Thursdays 3:30-4:30. Children of all ages can participate in a rules-light roleplaying game in which they take on the persona of an imagined sea creature with psionic powers on a human-free planet! Email acarpenter@clamsnet.org to sign up!

Tween/Teen Roleplaying Game – Wednesdays 6:00-7:00 Youth in grades 5 and above can create a character of a monster hunter (who may be a monster themselves…) saving an unsuspecting humanity from dangerous forces. Email acarpenter@clamsnet.org to sign up!
