Celebrating National Friends of Libraries Week: October 15-21

|

The Friends of Brooks Free Library presents and funds various free programs each month, from October until June each year, and has been doing so since 1974 when it was incorporated. Membership in the Friends helps support the library’s extensive activities such as supplying materials and equipment for the VITAL Program ( Vision Impaired Technology Assistance at the Library); funding for programs for adults and children; offering museum passes; providing volunteer support to manage the Books-on-Wheels program.

Membership in the Friends is an easy and helpful way to assist with these programs that are an integral part of the Harwich community. The Sunday programs provide interesting talks from local residents, a variety of music performances, gardening information helpful to the Cape Cod gardener, history, both local and further abroad, local authors on a wide range of topics, and much more.

Funds for Friends’ support come primarily from membership dues and book sales generated by their bookstore. Membership in the Friends offers a choice of Annual Dues that range from $10 per person to $150 for a life member, and an application for membership is available on our website here.

Membership and donations to help fund programs offered by the Friends are always welcome.
